Golf courses
The golf course was built in the late 1970’s and has matured to become of championship standard measuring over 6,173 yards. It was home to the Western Senior Masters final in 2006 and is now a regular host to county matches.
The Abbey Golf Course (The Abbey Hotel Golf and Country Club)
This championship standard golf course has been extensively upgraded and lengthened in recent years to create a variety of challenges for golfers. The golf course’s renowned designer, Donald Steel, has ensured that although challenging, The Abbey Golf Course is enjoyable with wide fairways and a rough that is not too punishing.
Matured trees and lakes are attractive elements of this golf course. A picturesque view from the 7th is a 192 yard drive from the medal tee with a green partially surrounded by the River Arrow. The 13th is a more challenging uphill par 4 drive at 250 yards between two mature oak trees with the green concealed out of sight at the top of the hill.
